hoppy easter!

we went to the 9 a.m. easter sunday service at grammy & grandpa dallas' church. i can't say i remember much about the service because there was no sunday school program for the big kids, just the infants and toddlers. while i can understand that they don't have enough staff to watch all the kids, it's really hard to pay attention with a bunch of kids bouncing around, asking "is this almost over?" and wanting to go to the bathroom 3 times. yay for traditions!

the feast

easter lunch was so yum. selena made a salad, baked ham, my favorite potatoes, and grilled asparagus. she and the kids also made a lemon pie with meringue. it was all so delicious.

after lunch, we headed back home. you normally don't see so much craziness on the interstate. i don't know if people ate too much out of their easter baskets, but just all sorts of weirdness. provided much needed comic relief when sitting in this traffic:

at least there was a target truck in front of me. made me think happy thoughts!

finally! back to full speed!

it was a bunch of carnies on their way to houston. this is also where we made our 4th sighting of the bleach blonde driving the black prius. i was really hoping that she'd get pulled over. her texting was a danger to all of us near her. she could not maintain proper speed or keep herself in her lanes. at one point she got really close to my car. part of me wished i didn't have james or the kids in the car. i probably would have tried to teach her a lesson. :)

we FINALLY got home, and the easter bunny had made another appearance. lauren loves the ariel dress up jewelry and jared loves his new star wars figurine. they were so excited about those that they barely paid attention to anything else i put...i mean the easter bunny put...in their basket. brandon is enjoying his new airplane. it's noisy though! and just what i needed...more balls to keep up with! ha ha!
