my project 365: mother's day

we went to church this morning and it was nice to be recognized by our pastor. in sunday school class, all the husbands stood up and said nice things about each of us. was really nice to hear james say how much he appreciated all the things i do around here, and that he acknowledge how much work managing three kids is. sometimes i wonder if he has a clue. apparently he does, he just doesn't want me to know it. :)

after church james let me have some time to rest by myself. we had to prepare homemade spaghetti and meatballs for dinner (johnny and carol's request), so i wanted to get some rest in before getting that started. it was nice to have some time alone and to get some shut eye.

carol, johnny & susan arrived around 4:30 p.m. and we enjoyed visiting and playing games with the kids. johnny took some time to do some sight word games with lauren. they came up with some of the silliest sight word sentences! she is one of the very few in her class that already knows her sight words. i asked jared's kindergarten teacher if she minded sending over her list. she's well on her way to learning all of those too. smart girl!

dinner turned out to be very tasty. even though the meatball recipe is pretty simple, those little balls have so much flavor. james did listen to me when i told him not to put so many hot spices in it. last time i could barely eat them and i love me some spicy food! i think everyone, but lauren enjoyed their dinner. that girl is such a nightmare when it comes to eating. she would live off of chicken nuggets and french fries if we let her. or hot dogs. she keeps oscar mayer in business. ha ha
