playdate!

erica and i had planned on meeting up at a park in the woodlands and having a picnic, but we realized when we were loading up the cars that it was just too hot. so we decided to go to the mall and play in the indoor playground. bad news. it was closed. so we decided to walk around until lunchtime. we went outside and they had this neat little arbors that were over this fountain/mini-river. it was out of the sun and the kids wanted to throw pennies in and make wishes. i thought all five of them on the bench was too cute! poor brandon, surrounded by a bunch of girls. :)

emma & lauren are a year apart. we took pictures of the two of them together before rob & erica moved to alaska. so neat seeing them "grown up." hopefully they continue being friends for a long time!

no playdate with us is complete without a little drama. lauren and i went ahead and ate what we packed for our picnic instead of getting something from the food court. while i was getting brandon situated, lauren started eating her food. i turn towards her and i realize she's eating my lunch. okay, i normally wouldn't mind sharing something, but she was eating my peanut butter & jelly sandwich. i had totally forgotten to tell her that i put my lunch in her bag and to not touch my sandwich bag. lauren is allergic to nuts!!! so i start freaking out, telling her to spit out what she had in her mouth in the ficus plant behind her. i'm trying to get her to swish her mouth out with sprite. ay ay ay. luckily she didn't get much of my sandwich, but it scared the crap out of me. thank goodness we had our epi-pen and thank goodness erica is a nurse! she never did break out in hives or have any sort of reaction so i was very thankful for that. hopefully erica will go on another playdate with us. next time i promise to put my lunch in my own bag!
