another busy day!

i don't really know who has more fun at field day...the parents or the kids! i signed up to volunteer the second shift, but they ended up not needing me so i just tagged along and watched jared and his classmates at their activities. this particular race was hysterical. there were four teams and the would run down towards a high school football player and try to ram them as hard as they could. most of the time they would bounce right off of them and flip over or something silly. i was just waiting for one of the kids to bust their face. of course it had to be mine. well, he didn't bust his face, but a tooth that was wanting to fall out finally did!

remember last night when jared decided to share his baseball cookie cake with his baseball team? well, that didn't work out so well. about 1 minute after we arrived at the fields, the worst & most spectacular thunder/lightning storm that i've ever seen parked right over us. jared was so upset that he wasn't going to have practice, and then got even more upset when he realized he wasn't going to get to share his cake. kind of funny since i probably would have been happy to not share it! i called nick's mom and she said that they would meet up for dinner and then before you know it, coach joe and his boys and rob's family were all at the restaurant. the kids had a fun time being rowdy and there were just enough pieces of cookie cake for everyone. and poor daddy...he didn't get to make it because the flooding was too bad. we did bring him a piece of cookie cake back though to make up for it!
