jared and i had a really cute conversation early this morning on the staircase. it was so early, no one else had woken up! anyway, it was one of those that you have to write down!
jared: "mommy, you don't have to take me to school this morning after you make my breakfast."
me: "WHAT?!?!?! you don't have to go to school today?" (yes, i know he had the day off)
jared: "no mom, i don't have school today. it's my favorite holiday!"
me: "i thought halloween was your favorite holiday?"
jared: "no."
me: "it's not christmas?"
jared: "no."
me: "why is today your favorite holiday?"
jared: "because it's martin luther king, jr. day."
me: "REALLY?"
jared: "yes!!!"
me: "what is so important about martin luther king, jr. that he gets a holiday?"
jared: "DUH MOM! the man had a dream. a big dream!"
