star wars laser tag party!

okay. for real. just in case jared didn't know how happy we are that he turned 8 years old, we decided to throw him one more party! jared has been asking for a star wars party for almost two years now. last year we had planned on having one at the laser tag place by our house, but it just never happened. i promised him that we would for sure do it for his 8th birthday. so here it is his 8th birthday, and i had to make good on that!!!

here are all of jared's partygoers: ricky, alex, ray, jacob, nick, obviously jared, and alex. rob was late coming to the party, but he eventually got there!

gotta love the "mom with the cake" picture. after all the planning, i have to at least be in one! and since i take having the cake perfectly decorated in line with the theme so seriously...

my friend katie decorated this cake. since star wars is trademarked, she has to be super careful about how she decorates. i found this really neat star wars paper and we went off of that. i'm so glad that i thought to have her put an 8 in one of the hexagons. much easier to remember which year the cake matches up with!

the kids had a great time. so did the parents!!! kim thought it was a ruse by james and i to have a party and just say it was for jared! ha ha. so glad that jared got to have several friends come out and join us in the celebration. we are very blessed.
